Probiotics, often referred to as "friendly bacteria" or "good bacteria" are live microorganisms that help maintain the natural balance of organisms (microflora) in the intestines. The World Health Organization and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations have defined probiotics as "live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host." Most often, these microorganism are bacteria which come from two groups, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.
Probiotics, which means "for life," have been used for centuries as natural components in health promoting foods. Today, research related to Probiotics suggests a range of potentially beneficial medicinal uses - focus has been on their interaction with one's immune system, anti-cancer potential, biotherapeutic agents for antibiotic associated diarrhea, travelers' diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel disease, vaginal infections, skin, stomach and respiratory illnesses.
Viosan's Probiotic+ formulation includes two species each of Lactobacillus
and Bifidobacterium. We have incorporated 20 billion units per serving
to maximize therapeutic potential.

Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 to 2 capsules daily.
